WPR weekly deets: June 26

Some Words from the Management

Summer really feels like it's here to stay for our crew. Tonight we've got a bonus chance of thunderstorms, which adds to the fun. At least you know you'll be running with friends!

Run starts at Clark Park (44th and Baltimore) and ends at Local 44 Bottle Shop (44th and Spruce).

Upcoming Events

Wait Wait... I'm Running!!  - June 27 at 7:30am

Peter Sagal is coming to Philly for a live recording of Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! and as is his tradition, he'll be doing a group run with West Philly Runners (and friends) the morning of the show.

We'll meet up in Logan Circle (19th and Ben Franklin Pkwy) and do a 4-ish mile loop. We can end up at Cappricio Cafe (16th and Ben Franklin Pkwy) for those who want to hang out afterwards.

Philly Mayor's Cup  - August 10

The Philly Mayor's Cup is a celebration of the Philadelphia running community, held on historic Belmot Plateau. This one is only about the team: all runners compete for their chosen local running club and there are no individual winners.

One day, dozens of clubs, five races: 5K, 5 Mile, 10K, 10 Mile, and a Half Marathon.

May the fastest* team win!

*The team that has the most fun also wins. So does the one that raises the most for charity.

Philly 10K - August 25

The 11th annual Philly 10K marks the most significant updates to the race since we launched in 2014. In addition to the only opportunity of the year to run through the heart of South Philly on fully closed streets, this year we are adding The Philly Mile and a Kids Dash (what can we say? The founders both had babies and have grown soft) as part of the Diadora Kickoff Party festivities at FDR Park.

Philadelphia Distance Run - September 15

The PDR was founded in 1978 and remains one of the world’s premier Half Marathons. Set on the third Sunday in September, the PDR has long been one of the great fall tune up races going into marathon season and a perfect destination race for a weekend spent in the city of Brotherly Love.

Run ends at Local 44 Bottle Shop
(44th and Spruce)

6 Miler
